15 November 2004,
Dear Durjay,

What a wonderful holiday. It was nice to meet you and thank you from Kath and myself for our presents which were very generous. You have obviously got excellent staff working for you, there was not one time that we were not welcomed, on time and graciously throughout the whole of our journey. You obviously have an excellent organization in place.

Repeating what Eifion has said with regard to the Goa meals. Please be honest and tell us if we have spent over the allowance because we are totally content with the value for money we have received and would be only too pleased to pay an additional supplement should it be necessary. Please be happy to use our name and my email address should other British people wish to look for a recommendation to your Company. We will obviously be telling our friends and relatives anyway but you will have a much larger clientele than we would be speaking to.
Once more, thank you very much indeed, we felt totally relaxed as we knew we were in safe hands throughout the whole of our journey and adventure around India.

Yours sincerely

Dear Compass India,

Bravo to another fantastic tour you arranged for our second trip to India!  As a repeat guest, we can add “reliable” service to the long list of praises for Compass.   As stated before, “Whenever we return to India, this wondrous and distant land, we will always go with a "Compass" at hand”.  It did not occur to me how soon we would come back.  Normally, we do not set foot into a country we recently visited, much less the same continent.  But my husband explained that Compass is the only company we can fully trust to fulfill our wishes, especially on short notice.

Knowing we were in good hands, the planning phase was different than our first experience. Rather than requesting specific cities and hotels based on the typical tourist circuit, we created a “wish list” of things we wanted to see.  Compass incorporated our wishes and filled the itinerary, yet we were involved in every step of the way to ensure your interpretation of our wishes were correct.  The unusual tour was a challenge, especially with the vast distances between places.

Though there were unavoidable days of travel, the route was logically considered to minimize the necessary hassle.   In response to our reluctance to train travel, we were escorted to our specific seats well in advance of departure.  Most remarkable, was the enthusiastic welcome by Joy Mazumdar in the tout-filled city of Varanasi.  As we opened the train door to exit, we were immediately greeted with marigold garlands and whisked away to a vehicle.

Overall, it was a well-executed tour with a few minor glitches.  Yet to our amazement, the casual mention of them prompted an immediate response to remedy the situation.  Similar to our first tour, the accommodations and guides delivered expert knowledge, personal attention and commitment to service.  All made themselves available with an “At your service”, smile even during the national holiday of Diwali.   Most notable was the tiger safari portion of our trip.  Our wish to see tigers (7 total) in the wild was fulfilled, but it was the extraordinary and incredible service at Tiger Den that indelibly remains in our minds.

We leave once more with memories of fascinating sights, scrumptious cuisine and hospitable people.
Durjay, we want to thank you again for your personal touch in arranging this tour.  We appreciated the periodic phone calls to see if things were going smoothly, taking time out of your family’s hectic schedule to dine with us twice and giving us opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of Indian culture.  Truly, your company is listed under the definition of “hospitality”.  We hope that we can show you our version of hospitality, if ever you come to the United States.  Until then, best of luck to Compass and thank you so much for another unforgettable trip to India.

Warmest and best regards,
Christine & Jeffrey Moses, USA

Tour Taken: India Nepal Highlights
Year :2003, September

Dear Durjay,
My apology for the delayed reply.
I've been very busy catching up with my work load as well as trying to clear my jetlagged head from the long flight home.
The trip to India and Nepal was so unusual and full of incredible experiences, I really can't put my impressions in only a few words.

Thanks for your sincere request on my tour feedback. So I'll give you some of frank impressions about my India tour you arranged.

* One of the highlights of my India tour was to visit a Rajput family in Jaipur. Bawani arranged for this, and I immensely enjoyed talking and experiencing the Indian family life.
I suggest you should put more family home visits in your itinerary because we get thrilled to be invited to the real Indian life style.

Most of all, I thank you for my smooth transition from the city to city. There were always tour guide, tour manager, the car with the driver waiting for me and that counted enormously for my peace of mind in a big foreign land.

I was heartened by your presence at the Delhi train station at Midnight, waiting for me with a porter.

The train ride from Delhi to Varanasi was very enjoyable though I couldn't sleep much.
My seat was on the side of the aisle on upper bed, but I sat on the bottom bunk as I was told, not knowing that seat was taken, but the man gave it up for me and he disappeared to the other compartment, so I had 2 beds all to myself.

I was very pleased and relieved to have two men immediately came into to my compartment as soon as the train arrived at Varanasi, introducing himself as my tour manger, Jai and the driver.
I want to especially commend Jai for his kind effort and care for my well being in Varanasi. He and his driver were always prompt getting back to me whenever I had inquires. I was not too impressed with the tour guide in Varanasi though.(I forgot his name).

Jai negotiated for my overweight suit case with the Varanasi airport ticket counter staff who insisted I should pay extra money for over weight. Jai skillfully and patiently talked with them, hence saving me headache and extra money. He waited with me until my plane departure. I wouldn't forget his kind thoughtfulness.

* In Agra, I also had wonderful Yogi as my tour guide. Not only is his English very fluent and but also he was well informed in many wordly current events. Yogi was an excellent guide who was very knowledgable about the history of India.
I really appreciate Yogi, and Suri the driver waiting 2 hrs for the delayed express train from Agra to Delhi.

* I enjoyed Rajasthan tour very much, and Pool Mahal hotel in Kishangrh was really charming as well as it's very courteous staff.

* I was very pleased with Ms. Renuka, my tour guide in Nepal. She was very eager to help, and provided many useful services.

Hope to see you when you visit Californis in April, and I may want to use your company again when I visit S.India and Udaipur, Jaisalmer which I missed at this time.

My best wishes,

Candice
